McMurray to Pull Double Duty at the Magic Mile

NASCAR Nextel Cup standout Jamie McMurray will make his second straight start in the No. 2 Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge in this weekend's Sylvania 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at New Hampshire International Speedway. McMurray posted his best career NCTS finish last week with his second place showing in the Kroger 200 at Richmond International Raceway.

"I am excited about going to New Hampshire with this Ultra Motorsports team," McMurray said. "Those guys did a great job last weekend. They put a great truck underneath me and we almost came out of Richmond with a win. The Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge was really good and I expect it to be fast this weekend. We are going to take the same chassis that we ran at Richmond and that's good because it was a new truck and it was pretty quick right out of the box."

McMurray recorded his third career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole at Richmond and was only bested by his Ultra Motorsports teammate Ted Musgrave in the race. It is a situation in which McMurray would like to see the tables turned.

"I almost had him at Richmond," McMurray stated. "Right at the end I got up on the outside of him. The outside groove came in and I really started getting good runs on the outside. I really thought I could have completed the pass, but the caution came out and I got up beside him in three and four. We will get another shot at him this weekend because I expect that Ted will be right up front again at New Hampshire."

McMurray lived through a good news-bad news scenario last weekend at Richmond International Raceway. He experienced a great run in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race but had a bittersweet run in the NASCAR Nextel Cup event. He posted a top-ten finish but was denied a spot in the "Chase for the Championship" by a scant 15 points.

"We didn't miss it by much, but that's the way it goes with the points," McMurray said after the Cup race at Richmond. "We'll  look back and try to win one of these races in the next 10. We gave it all we had, but we just came up a little bit short."

The Sylvania 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at New Hampshire International Speedway is slated for Saturday September 18th. The race will be broadcast live by The Speed Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio at 1:00pm ET.
