SS Racing Makes 2nd CTS Start at RIR

SS Racing Makes 2nd CTS Start at RIRSS Racing readies for their 2nd Craftsman Truck Series start of 2004 at Richmond International Raceway. The team will be sponsored by Indianapolis based ASILIMITED  Building Enclosure Specialists.

Butch Miller will pilot the #08 ASILIMITED Silverado in the Kroger 200 at Richmond International Raceway September 09, 2004.  This will be Miller’s 110th career start in the truck series, compiling 1 win, 23 top 5’s and 50 top 10’s.  “We had a great start for this team at IRP” says Miller.  “We qualified 27th and finished 24th in one of the most competitive fields I have seen since I began in the Truck Series.”

Currently SS Racing is running (3) teams in the ASA Series including the #06 ditech.com/GMAC Chevy through an alliance with NEXTEL Cup powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports and driven by open wheel star Kyle Krisiloff.  The other cars are being driven by Miller, Davin Scites and John Dalziel.

“When I saw that there were 53 trucks at IRP, I was a little concerned about making the field, but with Butch driving, we made it comfortably” adds Ken Smith, President of SS Racing.  “We considered the IRP race an R&D experience since we only had the truck two weeks and Butch put only 27 laps in it prior to qualifying”

Miller and Smith were united back in May of 2002 at a chance encounter.  This meeting has blossomed for both parties as Miller has collected 7 wins, 18 top 5’s and 32 top 10’s in only 42 starts in the ASA Series.  Miller’s experience and knowledge has also helped build the driver development niche.

Smith adds “ Our goal is to be competitive, represent ASILIMITED and their employees and continue to learn as we put together packages for 2005.”

ASILIMITED, a leader in the commercial glazing industry,  has performed signature projects throughout the Midwest including the Home of the Cincinnati Reds, Great American Ballpark.  “This is a great way to focus our teamwork mentality at ASILIMITED.  Our entire company and customers have rallied around the #08 Silverado” states ASI’s Vice President Jim Hook.

The #08 ASILIMITED Silverado will take the green flag at 8:30 PM on September 09, 2004 at RIR and will be shown live on SPEED Channel.  Don’t miss the excitement.
