  • Won pole position at Daytona International Speedway in first 2004 event with ppc Racing; led 12 laps and finished fifth
  • Best 2004 finish was third place at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway
  • Making 177th career start in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, 159th consecutive, second on current all-time list
  • Won first-career race and pole position at Flemington (N.J.) Speedway in 1998 and ’97, respectively, a .625-mile short track

Terry Cook on his 2002 Victory at Gateway International Raceway

“Gateway in 2002 was a special weekend.  We had an optional test day which turned our weekend into a three-day weekend.  We visited a local school on Thursday and talked to a bunch of kids.  Leading up to that race, I came down with a severe sinus infection and it progressively got worse everyday.  As good as we were running on the track throughout the weekend it didn’t seem to bother me but it caught up with me on race day morning.  I didn’t know how well my performance would be in the truck but the truck was just flawless.   We went the last one hundred laps under the green flag to the end.  There were only three caution flags.  I was definitely falling out of the seat at end of the race because I wasn’t feeling well.  The truck was running so well that it didn’t seem to matter much.  The Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International truck was on the rails all day long.”

Terry Cook on Competing in the Next Three Events

“We’re in the summer stretch.  The next three races starting with Gateway are special to me because we run at some of my favorite venues.  It’s a homecoming per se going to Michigan (International Speedway) and IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park).  I enjoy racing at these tracks.  My perennial favorite is Michigan because you can run right against the fence, you can run at the bottom or you can run in the middle.  The groove is so wide you can stack them eight-wide going into the corner and still have room to spare.  Michigan is a really neat facility.”

About the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International Race Truck

  • Truck No. 10-04 will make its fifth-career start.  It last competed at The Milwaukee Mile on June 25th, finishing seventh
  • Other starts were Memphis Motorsports Park (finished 27th), Mansfield Motorsports Speedway (third) and Martinsville Speedway (22nd)
