| Hamilton Qualifies Seventh for MBNA 200 06-03-2004 | TruckSeries.com Report
Bobby Hamilton qualified his Square D Dodge in the seventh starting position
for tomorrow’s MBNA America 200. Hamilton’s lap time of 23.690 seconds was one
of eight times that broke the previous track record at Dover International
Speedway.
“We’ll take that and run with it,” Hamilton said. “The guys put a good truck
together for me this race despite the fact they were under extra stress this
week moving into the new race shop. I can count on them for results and that has
helped us a lot this season.
“You never know what to expect coming into Dover,” Hamilton said. “I mean this
race track can change at the drop of a hat, so you have to be on your toes the
whole time. I’ve got a ton of experience here in a Winston Cup and Busch car, so
we see the race ending tomorrow with a good finish. It’s time to start racking
up those points.”
Hamilton led 14 laps last year in Dover before finishing second on the Monster
Mile.
Carl Edwards won the Pole starting position with a time 23.546 seconds. Jack
Sprague, Steve Park, Rick Crawford and Dave Blaney follow in the top five.
The MBNA America 200 airs live on Speed Channel, Fri. June 4th at 4:00 pm EDT
