DRIVER: DENNIS SETZER
TEAM: #46 Morgan-Dollar Motorsports Silverado
On Dover: “Dover is a very tough place to get a handle on. We have not had the best results there in the past, but our team has gotten better in some of the areas that have hurt us in the past here. Because you get back in the gas so early here, the gear selection and engine power are huge. The RCR engines have been a big boost to our program this year and our pit crew has been doing a great job.
The track tends to be a little green when we (the Trucks) get out there on Thursday. Its totally different when we go racing because the Cup and Busch Series put so many laps down between our first practice and the race. Its very abrasive to start with, but then the track starts to get some grip as more rubber is put down.
This weekend we will have a brand new truck at Dover. Its built specifically for the one-mile tracks and we hope it will be a good fit for Dover. Our best finish here is 9th and right now we are on a pretty good run of three straight top-three finishes. I would say our goal here is to get a top-three or top-five finish.”
DRIVER: JACK SPRAGUE
TEAM: #16 IWX Motorsports Chevy Trucks Silverado
On Dover: “Dover has always been a good track for me. I almost won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race there in 2001 and finished fifth and third there in the Busch car in 2002. It is fast and there is room to pass. You need horsepower there but handling is really critical to tire wear. There isn’t much difference to me running on a concrete track like Dover versus a paved track. Dover is a fun racetrack and I am looking forward to a good finish in the #16 Chevy Trucks Silverado.”
DRIVER: DAVID STARR
TEAM: #75 Spears Racing Silverado
On Dover: "I really like racing at Dover," says Starr, who took a third place last year. "The track is really fast and a good handling truck is all important. You have to be up on the wheel from start to finish. Because of the concrete you can drive in deeper than you ever thought possible. It is a track that requires you to totally concentrate every second. I like tracks that require that kind of thought. The fans at Dover are also great and there cheering and supports adds extra incentive to do well.
DRIVER: MATT CRAFTON
TEAM: #6 Kevin Harvick, Inc. GM Goodwrench Silverado
On Dover: "That place has been pretty bad for me the last two years. I had two really bad crashes there the last two races, but I really like the track a lot so maybe it will be nicer to me this year."
DRIVER: TRACY HINES
TEAM: #88 ThorSports Racing, Menards Silverado
On Dover: "I haven't ever been to Dover before. I think that the concrete track will really suit my driving style. You have to work hard to keep the car in the groove at a concrete track, just like you do at a lot of the dirt tracks we run. I haven't ever raced on concrete before, but I did test a Busch car at Bristol a couple of years ago, so it's not like I am going in blind. The plan will be to get out there in hot laps and find someone that has been there and knows the way around and follow him. That's usually the quickest way for me to learn a racetrack."
DRIVER: SHANE HMIEL
TEAM: #15 Billy Ballew Motorsports, Earl Small’s Harley Davidson Silverado
On Dover “Dover is a track I really enjoy racing. It’s totally fast and wide open. These Chevy’s we’ve gotten this year have been the best. Chevrolet has committed extensive resources to the teams in our series. I’ve always loved driving a Chevy racecar, but I’m having more fun than ever racing in these Silverado trucks.”
DRIVER: KEN SCHRADER
TEAM: #52 Schrader Motorsports Federated Auto Parts Silverado
On Dover: "I'm really proud of what our team has accomplished so far this season. We've had a couple of top 10s, and we finished 11th in Charlotte two weeks ago. Running just a parttime schedule, I think that we have a pretty good little wheel in the Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet. I expect that we'll break into the top five soon, and I don't know a better place to do that than at Dover this Friday. I always look forward to driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and I'm hoping for a great run at Dover this weekend."
