Top-Ten Again Sounds Good to Cook
TruckSeries.com Report Printer Version

The Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® driver, Terry Cook, is looking for a bit of good fortune this weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.  Sitting eighth in the driver points standings heading to Dover International Speedway, Cook has two top-10 starts the past two years and a 10th-place finish in 2002.

“We’ve never had a race here with good luck on our side,” said Cook, who has two top-five finishes this season.  “In last year’s race, we qualified in the top 10 but cut a hole in the radiator and had a couple of tires cut down in the race.  It seems every year we race at Dover, something happens to us.  I think we’re due for a little luck here at Dover International Speedway.”

Last year’s event at Dover International Speedway saw the driver and crew chief win in their first competitive event together in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.  With the addition of Jamie Jones as the new crew chief at ppc Racing, could history repeat itself with the Cook and Jones combination?

“It’s very important for Ford Power Stroke® Diesel by International® Racing and ppc Racing to have what I call a “Father Figure” in place, a go-to guy.  We’ve had a lot of people at ppc Racing step up and have helped out tremendously but you’re still looking for that one guy to make the final call.  It’s good to have that person in place.  We have the utmost confidence in Jamie to deliver exactly what we’re looking for.  We’ll start off working together for those top-10 runs and catapult that into top-fives and then to race wins.”

Based in Mooresville, N.C., ppc Racing enters its first season of competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with driver Terry Cook and the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International race team.  ppc Racing continues its competition in the NASCAR Busch Series, its fifth season, with driver Jason Keller in the No. 22 Miller High Life Ford Taurus.  With co-owners Greg Pollex and Keith Barnwell, ppc Racing earned the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship and has scored 27 wins and more than 150 top-five finishes as it enters the 2004 season.
