Flat Tire Hampers Team EJP Racing For Second Consecutive Week; Bodine 27th In Infineon 200
Geoffrey Bodine raced the No. 03 Team EJP Racing Chevrolet into the top-20 in
Friday night's Infineon 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Lowe's Motor
Speedway before contact with another truck caused a flat tire and a green flag
pit stop to change it for the second consecutive week. The stop caused Bodine to
lose a lap to the leaders, and resulted in a 27th-place finish.
"I don't know what happened out there," Bodine said after the race. "I was
running my line like I had been all night and someone just ran all over the
right rear of the truck. I don't even know who it was, they were all just
jumbled up. It was a mad house out there."
The old adage "if we didn't have bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all" was
at the forefront of everyone's mind after the conclusion of the race. In
addition to the flat tire, two on-track incidents caused damage to the Team EJP
Chevy, with one incident leaving a gaping hole on the right front corner of the
truck.
"The 78 truck got spun on that restart, and everyone just stacked up in front of
us," Bodine said. "We couldn't get slowed down in time, and nailed the guy in
front of us. I don't know what it was tonight on restarts, these guys just
couldn't get restarted at all tonight. They all stacked up in front of us on a
previous restart and I was able to get it slowed down, but we got hit in the
tail on that one. It was a rough night out there to say the least."
Bodine remains 25th in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers points going into
the next event at Dover International Speedway. That race will be broadcast live
on Speed Channel starting at 4 P. M. Eastern on Friday July 4th. The race can
also be heard live on select MRN Radio affiliates nationwide and on NASCAR Radio
144 on XM Satellite Radio.
