Event:  Infineon 200
Location:  Lowe’s Motor Speedway
Qualifying:  May 20th 5:45 PM EDT
Race Start:  May 21st 8:30 PM EDT Live on Speed

50 Cent Video: “My dad owns a salvage yard in Nashville.  About a week ago a guy came in and said he wanted to shoot a 50 cent video at the salvage yard.  My dad has let other groups such as, fire departments or other musicians do that before, so it wasn’t a big deal.  Except for the fact that my dad didn’t know that 50 Cent was a huge artist.  So he agreed to this low paying video shoot.  Well about two or three days later the guy came back and wanted my dad to start stacking up these cars for a stage.  He thought that was a little more than they had discussed, so they agreed on more money.  Then I get this call one afternoon from my mom asking us to come over to the salvage yard.  She told us there was about 500 people, 50 police officers, all these catering trucks, lighting trucks, four dressing vehicles and Prevost buses.  Then she asked me if I had heard of 50 Cent, Juvenile, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck.  So my daughter is about to pass out when she heard that.  We go down there and it was unbelievable the entourage these people had the cars, the dancers, and the equipment.  It was outrageous.  My youngest child Chaz wasn’t fazed by it at all.  He is the wild one and has this cute personality.  So here comes 50 Cent walking by and Chaz yells out, ‘Hey what’s up 50?’ Then 50 Cent turned around and shook his hand and talked to him a little.  Then he ended up kissing my daughter on her forehead, which about made her faint.  I asked Juvenile if my kids could have their autograph and he replied, ‘It’s all good.’  Well I’m a country boy and didn’t realize that meant yes.  But we had a good time with the whole thing even if it was a big surprise.”

Lowe’s Motor Speedway: “I had a great race in Charlotte last year.  It ended with a green-white-checkered finish and I messed up and spun the tires on the restart.  It allowed Kevin Harvick, Jeremy Mayfield and Bobby (Hamilton) to pass me in the last two laps.  It’s unfortunate because we were running fourth at the time with a ton of lead on the fifth-place driver when the caution even came out.  The whole race in general was just a great race for us and so I am looking forward into going back.”

Consistency Pays Off: “We are really looking for consistency to pay off for us this year. We had one bad run so far in Mansfield, but we can’t get down after that. It is hard not to do that, but we will keep pushing. We’ve had two top 10’s this year in only four races, so consistency will pay off in the long run. I really look to finish races with our truck in one piece, and hopefully come out with a top-10 finish, which will move us up in the points. Let’s face it, everyone has a bad race here and there, but it is how you capitalize on it after that which makes things better. We need to get more top five’s and obviously some victories to be a championship team. We’re right there on the edge of that.”

Championship Reachable: “We have to keep finishing races and running up front to win the championship. I think if a guy could run eighth or ninth every week, he would have a real shot at it. I need to get in there and win my share of races though. However, for every good race a guy has, he can have a bad race. To be consistent is the key to winning a championship. If we can’t obtain it, we want to be more competitive throughout the races so our sponsors get its value. It’s all about bringing sponsors back to keep this thing going. Maybe I have to pay more dues before I win a championship, but whatever the case is, we have to keep Dickies and Dodge happy in the meantime.”
