| Marty Houston Takes Checkered Flag in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Bragging Rights Race at Hickory Motor Speedway 05-10-2004 | TruckSeries.com Report
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pit crew member Marty Houston dusted off his driving gloves and showed the fans at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday night that he still has what it takes to make it to victory lane. “Who said tire changers aren’t race car drivers,” Houston said following the Craftsman Challenge: Hometown Bragging Rights Race presented by Goodyear. “Tonight was a lot of fun for all of us, and I hope the fans saw a great show. I’m really happy that Craftsman and Goodyear put this together.” “I don’t get to climb in a race car that much anymore, so it sure is cool to know that I can still win at this track. I’m looking forward to defending my title next year.” The 10-lap race was slowed by one caution when Setzer was bumped and spun in turn four. Setzer didn’t hit the wall, and he was able to rebound to finish the race second behind Marty Houston, who changes tires on Setzer’s No. 46 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. “It was just a lot of fun out there tonight,” said Andy Houston, driver of the No. 2 ASE/CarQuest Dodge in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. “It’s always great to come back to Hickory and to give something back to the fans. I really hope that Craftsman and Goodyear can make this in to an annual event.” Images courtesy of Emmett Byrd
