Hines Shoots from 21st in Daytona Debut
Daytona Beach, FL Printer Version

  Discuss

Tracy Hines qualified the Menards Chevrolet Silverado in the 21st position for Friday's Florida Dodge Dealers 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday.  Hines' official lap of 49.746 seconds/180.875 miles per hour slots the former United States Auto Club sprint car champion inside the eleventh row.  Terry Cook won the pole for the event with a lap of 49.006/183.643.

""This hasn't been an easy day for me," Hines said after qualifying wrapped up.  "I'm not good with qualifying 21st.  As a driver, I don't feel like I have much of an impact today.  I hope that will change tomorrow when we get in the draft."

Hines will make his first career start at Daytona International Speedway in Friday's 100-lap/250-mile event.  The race will be seen live on Speed Channel starting at 8:00 P.M. eastern time on Friday, and can be heard live on MRN Radio affiliated nationwide and on XM Satellite Radio.
