Kimmel Ready to Back up Daytona Best in Florida Dodge Dealers 250 NCTS Event
Five-time ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion, Frank Kimmel, is anxious to get
started this second week of Speedweeks at the Daytona International Speedway
after earning his best career Daytona finish last Friday afternoon in the ARCA
RE/MAX Series event. Kimmel qualified in the fourth position and led 25 laps of
the event before finishing second. Kimmel will look to use his week of on-track
experience to his advantage as he prepares to take the wheel of the No. 29 K
Automotive Ford F-150 in this week’s Florida Dodge Dealers 250.
“The run that we had in the ARCA RE/MAX race has certainly given me even more
confidence and motivation for this week’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race,”
said Kimmel. “I have had a lot of good runs at Daytona over the years and I feel
like it can only help to have been on the race track already this week.”
Kimmel tested with the K Automotive team at the 2.5-mile superspeedway over the
off season with positive results as the team was one of the fastest on the time
sheets. K Automotive has earned a top ten finish each time they have competed at
Daytona in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Kimmel has earned eight top ten
finishes at Daytona in his 13 starts at the track.
“This K Automotive team has always been impressive no matter what race track
they are competing at,” said Kimmel. “The equipment is always top of the line
and here at Daytona their record is just as impressive. I know how good this
truck was at the test session and I’m really looking forward to getting on track
Wednesday in preparation for qualifying.
